Connecting Suunto

Runsei is Suunto compatible, and connecting is open to every runner. If you run with a Suunto watch, you can connect your Suunto account and your runs arrive in Runsei by themselves.

How to connect. In the app, on the web or the phone, open Profile → Data hub (the Connections screen), find Suunto among the sources you have not connected and tap Connect. Suunto's own sign-in opens; approve access and you come back to Runsei. The row then shows Suunto as connected. If the row says it is not ready, or the connection could not be completed, try again a little later; nothing is half connected.

What you get. After you finish a run and it syncs to Suunto, Suunto sends the run to Runsei shortly afterwards, with no button to press. Runsei reads the run itself: distance, time, laps, pace, the route and the heart rate recorded during it. It matches the run to the session you had planned, scores how it went and lets your coach adjust the sessions that follow, in the same way as a run from any other source. If the same run also arrived from Strava or Apple Health, you get one run, not two.

What Runsei does not do (yet). It reads your runs only. Sleep, HRV and resting heart rate from Suunto's daily tracking are not read, so for recovery data connect Apple Health or Health Connect. Runsei does not send planned sessions to your Suunto watch for you; use Download workout (.fit) (see Sending a session to your watch). It does not change anything in your Suunto account.

Your data. What comes from Suunto is used only inside Runsei, to coach you. It is not sold and not used for advertising, and it is kept out of anything Runsei pools across runners.

Disconnect, and delete. You can disconnect at any time from the same screen: Runsei deletes the access it stored for your Suunto account and stops receiving your runs. Runs already imported stay in your Runsei history until you delete them or delete your account; deleting your account removes them and everything else Runsei holds.
